Why I shoot Irish landscapes on the Nikon Z system and my reviews

I have been shooting the West Cork coastline for nearly 15 years now and in that time I have owned almost every serious Nikon body going — from the D700 all the way through to where I am now with the Nikon Z8.

When the Z series finally got to a point where it could match and then surpass my beloved D850 for long exposure seascape and landscape work, I made the switch completely.

What I care about on a landscape shoot is dynamic range for those high contrast coastal scenes, battery life in cold Atlantic conditions, weather sealing that can handle a West Cork winter, and autofocus that doesn’t let me down when I am hand holding in low light on a rocky shoreline waiting for a wave.

Everything you will find in this section has been tested in the real world — on Irish beaches, cliff tops and headlands, not just in a studio. That is what makes these reviews different and hopefully that is what makes them useful to you.
