On the 25th of August Skylum announced the new Upscale AI expansion pack fairly quietly and as of yet it hasn’t made massive waves which begs the question why not and just how good is it? Hence this Luminar Neo Upscale AI review which I will be updating daily as more information becomes available over the coming days.

What exactly is Upscale AI? How does it work and when will I get it if I pre-order it now?
So, like me you probably have hundreds of questions right now after Skylum announce Upscale AI yesterday. Let me answer what I can so far (Non Disclosure Agreement) and I will be updating this post as soon as any new information is available.
What is Upscale AI?
Upscale AI is officially the third expansion pack to be released for Luminar Neo and again it is going to be an incredibly useful one. Upscale AI is an image resizing AI based expansion pack for Luminar Neo.
Image resizing software is fantastic for not just all those old photographs but also the heavily cropped images or wildlife images or drone shots even.
I know I am constantly in a situation where I find myself with the wrong lens on my camera and I see something stunning in the distance… I think we have all been there though multiple times. So we end out cropping our image heavily and reducing the resolution of the shot dramatically making it semi useless.
This is where Upscale AI comes in and saves the day for us, through AI technology we can dramatically increase our image resolution meaning we can finally print the shot in larger formats… so for me this technology is worth the world.</p
Is Upscale AI the best resizing or upscaling software?
Excellent question and let’s have a look at the other options out there… we have Topaz Labs Gigapixel AI (review here) or ON1 option of Resize AI (review here) being the two established products available so far for image resizing on the market, so what makes Upscale AI special or different? Well nothing as of yet apart from its price and the fact it’s apart from Luminar Neo as an Expansion pack.
Is it better than the other options? As of yet nobody outside of Skylum Software has tested the finished version so your guess is a s good as mine but I honestly can’t wait to have a play with the finished version of it..

When Is the Upscale AI Release Date?
That’s another great question and for now all I can say is very soon. The official release date hasn’t been released as of yet but you won’t have to wait too long for it at all, or the five other expansion packs also.
Once I am allowed share more with you I will and I will update this post with the latest specs and information on the release date and also demo videos.

Upscale AI is available as an expansion pack for Luminar Neo and it is available in the Luminar Neo 2022 Expansion pack in both a subscription plan or you can also purchase it outright for a one time fee also if you prefer. The Luminar Neo 2022 Expansion includes all seven expansion packs which are… HDR Merge, Noiseless AI, Upscale AI, AI Background Removal and 3 other as of yet undisclosed expansion packs.
